Artist's Statement:

"Summer has always existed in my memory as a collection of moments rather than a single place. This body of work draws on family holidays, long afternoons by the water, shared lunches in the sun, and the familiar objects that quietly become part of those experiences. These works are about capturing the feeling of a season that seems to stretch endlessly within the realms of memory.

I am interested in the way memory softens and edits what we remember. A striped towel, a table laid for lunch, sun-warmed fruit, the shimmer of water or the silhouette of figures against bright light can evoke entire stories, becoming vessels for nostalgia.

The vases and plates I have hand built and glazed in hazy scenes and motifs of summer, extending these narratives into three-dimensional form. Together, the works blur the boundaries between the functional and the decorative, the remembered and the imagined.

Rather than depicting an idealised summer, this body of work reflects on the universal experience of remembering, and being transported to another time. It is an invitation to linger in those fleeting moments of warmth, connection and joy that remain long after the season has passed."
