NICOLA HART
ABOUT NICOLA HART
Nicola is a painter and ceramist based in Sydney, where she lives and works. She grew up in New Zealand, studying graphic design at Canterbury School of Fine Arts in Christchurch, and the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design in Providence USA. Nicola then moved to Australia to work in the advertising and design industry, as a creative for many prominent agencies followed by running her own design business for several years.
Over the last 10 years Nicola has dedicated herself full-time to ceramics, and more recently painting. She continues to develop her practice through attending courses by favourite artists, mentorship and working towards exhibitions and competitions. Nicola is a curious observer of people and their environment, and is interested in their relationships to each other and their surroundings. She explores themes of connection and memory through her figurative work in both paint and clay.
Nicola’s ceramics and paintings have been featured in many publications including Home Beautiful, Australian House & Garden, Country Style and Belle magazine.
