'Peaches are forever'

In this still life, a simple jug brimming with peaches becomes the stage for a playful crossover between literature and pop culture. One peach has tumbled from the jug, and beside it stands a miniature James Bond figure, a nod to the bedtime story 'James and the Giant Peach' that I have been reading to my children. The juxtaposition of classic still-life fruit with the tiny, heroic figure creates a whimsical moment where imagination shrinks the world, letting Bond slip into a child’s tale. It’s a gentle intersection of domestic life, storytelling, and humour wrapped in a familiar painterly tradition.
